2024 a Recap

One more year goes by without any major setbacks or incidents. With the way the world is going on these days, you are the most blessed when your life is utterly boring and nothing major is happening around, that means you have very less to worry about and that is how 2024 was, it was pretty much a routine and nothing fancy and I am not complaining.

Personally this year was amazing as I managed to get my driving license in this country which is outrageously expensive and also I managed to get a car (Kia Niro PHEV - Steel Grey), and trust me, that car is a boon, it makes all of travel a lot easier and faster, we no more have to check for train / bus timings, walk to a far away train / bus station and especially during these harsh winter times, having a car is simply the best. I wonder how I lived in this country for a decade without a car and survived many harsh winters. Now dropping P to school or going to pick up groceries are all a cake walk, P is super thrilled that he has a car now.

My dad and aunt back home continue to be in good health so that is one major relief and I hope god gives them the strength to carry on for as long as they can, even on V's side her family was doing good, considering we have all 80+ folks back home, it is always a good feel to see / hear them doing well.

P has been excelling in his studies and he has been a class topper this year, well he is just in Grade 2 so a very very long way to go, he is not really interested in any kind of hobby at this point in time, other than watching YouTube round the clock :-). But he is getting bigger and smarter by the day and continues to be a daddy's boy and loves me more than his mom which V is not really happy about.

Professionally this year has been nothing short of AMAZING, got an award for a very complex stuff that I built and got appreciation from almost everybody in the management, it was amazing to work on such complex architecture and knowing the fact that I built, designed and developed the whole stuff gives me immense pleasure, I am not sure how the next year will span, but I am sure I will find new avenues to work on and try to maintain my immpecable record at my work place, overall it was an absolutely stunning year professionally.

India winning the T20 CWC should be the pinnacle moment in sport for me, thoroughly enjoyed it and the way South Africa flattered was fun, of course they stuck to their 'chockers' tag. But on the other hand India performing miserably in Test match arena is worrying, losing 3-0 to NZ on home turf and totally murdered by the Aussies in BGT were really hard to digest, I am looking forward to IPL as CSK has an amazing team.

India's Gukesh winning the World Chess Champion ship and becoming a world champion by Ding Liren was another "goosebump" moment for me in sports, well done Gukesh.

So overall 2024 has been really really kind to me and my family and I hope it was the same for all my blog readers as well.
